USA University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Computational Systems Biology (196)
Two full time postdoctoral positions are available in computational systems biology at the Altschuler and Wu labs (http://www4.utsouthwestern.edu/altschulerwulab/).
The first position will investigate cellular network function in human immune cells. Machine learning and statistical analysis methods will be used to identify how cell networks regulate morphology and motility.
The second position will identify mechanisms of drug resistance in dynamically evolving cancer populations. To do so, high dimensional features will be extracted from single cell image data, and machine learning and statistical methods will be used to identify underlying patterns.
The ideal candidates will have strong backgrounds in quantitative analysis, machine learning, and a willingness to learn and understand the relevant biology of the problems. Applicants with Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or other relevant areas are encouraged to apply. The lab is highly multi-disciplinary and experimental, clinical and computational postdoctoral fellows will have the opportunity to work side-by-side.
Applicants should submit a brief one-page description of research interests and plans, a resume, and contact information for three references to:
